Title: Mr. Scootles Volume 1
Publisher Name: Alterna Comics
Writer: H.C. Noel
Art: H.C. Noel
$17.95, 160 pages, Black & White

Safety Content Label: PARENTAL ADVISORY - 15 years and older. Similar to T+ but featuring more mature themes and/or more graphic imagery.

Publishers Blurb:
When two college students watch a cursed film reel starring the forgotten 1930's cartoon character Mr. Scootles, they unknowingly set off a chain of events that could lead to Hell on Earth. Featuring a cast that includes a beautiful skirt-wearing demon, a bloodthirsty professor, a warrior angel, Judas, and the Devil herself. Mr. Scootles is a mystery-filled tale that is a tribute to the art of animation and its creators.

Reviewer Comments:
A strange and ridiculously wild ride of Dogma meets Cool World. It’s hard to truly describe a comic like this. A genius well blend of amazing story telling and art that fits this story far better then any. (Ya that seems to work)

I have to say I was definitely caught off guard by this comic, and I’m glad. The name leaves you curious enough to check out the first issue, but after that I promise you you’ll be stuck. So if you’re a fan of a good story…and I sincerely hope you are. Definitely give this a read, or two.
